Preface

One hundred years of history. A century of progress. This condensed history is prepared to acquaint the present generation, their heirs, and preserve for future generations, a written document of some of the hardships, misgivings, hopes and happinesses of past generations; in the organization, operation and the building of the body of this church.

In compiling this history, an overwhelming feeling of frustration and insignificance sets in, as the realization of the vast amount of information that is involved and the tremendous influence exerted by the church leaders and pioneers, during the past century, to build this church to its present day character, can never be put into words, or recorded on these few pages of written history. Since the generations that founded the original church have all passed on, information that they did not pass on to their heirs is lost forever. We pray that we will be worthy of the trust that our forebears have placed in us.

This should by no means be considered a final history of this church. We must pursue and obtain every last item of history available and record present day happenings for future inclusion in the history.

Grateful acknowledgement is due all the individuals that contributed the historical data and assisted in the development of this compilation. There may be some noteworthy items and some prominent names omitted, and there may be some inaccuracies stated, but bear with us, as these are purely unintentional.
